2010 MonsterBASH - It's a GO !!!!

Gentlemen and ladies, start your engines!

At yesterdays meeting it was decided that we as a group wish to hold a BASH again this year. If the level of interest stays as high as it was at the meeting I think this will be an even better event than last year!

I will start a thread soon with a Task list and we can start getting people who are interested to take ownership of those items.

Feel free to throw out ideas for how we should do things, events, what you want to see built at the site for the event etc. Doesn't mean we can or will do everything but the more ideas the better.

MonsterBASH 2010 - Edmonton Alberta, Canada

Where: Winterburn R/C Park Edmonton Alberta, Canada

$xx Entry Fee includes ALL events and FREE camping for Motorhomes, tents, campers. FREE Parking. Concession on site.

What to expect:

-Everyone running an R/C will have to sign in and are required to sign a liability release form.

-Camping on premises is free to all registered racers and their family from FRIDAY EVENING (After 5PM) and out by 6pm SUNDAY.

-Will have rented port-o-potty's

Concession will be open Friday through Sunday. Hours will be posted.

What we don't have:

-Electricity
-Running water
-Free tables and chairs. There are a few pit tables but be safe a nd bring your own.


Camping on the R/C Park property:

-If you do bring your own RV or Camper we ask that you use your own shower. So you will need to fill up with your own water.
-Bring your own Generator


Parking:

There is parking on premise for all registered racers that will be staying in Hotels/Motels.

Things you might want to bring:

-Generator
-Flashlight (no lights in Parking / camping area's)
-bug spray, sun block.
-drinking water. Water bottles available at concession
-chair
-pop up shade canopy
-table so you can work on your R/C
-Rain gear
-Parts. There are a few Hobby shops within a 20 minute drive and we are working with them to get some on-site support but be sure and bring what you need.

Glad to hear you guys are doing it again this year............I'm in for sure again this year it was a blast last year.....I'm sure that there will be more people coming from Brooks as well.....Can't wait.....

well you can expect me and a few others from calgary again this year was alot of fun last year daryl dont forget double double and a crewler lol after last years race picked up a 5th wheel for rcing. also heard that brooks is talking about a race this year well talk to you soon

Grr.... As a first time basher I Loved the event last year and was struck out of town for brooks this year... Hate to ask this but alas I can't make this year unless they give me time off from basic training that starts on the sixth . I want to get to one event this year, anyone know if and when an event in Calgary is happening? Ps to get a membership to run this summer do I just show up one night/weekend?

So i'm just wondering is there any updates on Monster Bash '10........havent neard much talk lately? Calgary boys were asking if i had heard anything , so figured I would ask. Track looks like its coming along.....how is the sponsor list looking? Who is coming , maybe we should start a list? Anyways any info will help........

Yes the BASH is still a GO. Please let everyone "down south" know this. I got a call today from one of the hobby shops that there is a rumor floating around in Calgary that it was canceled... IT IS NOT CANCELED. The bash will still happen.

There haven't been many up dates as I am dealing with my Mom passing away recently and having the deal with the Estate myself with near zero help from family. So I guess you can say I have been busy with NON-R/C related things...

Craig Anderson (CCA71) has taken over the Track Maintenance duties for me so that will help out. Last we spoke he has some plans to "tweak" Bash Mountain. Craig has FULL CONTROL over what happens with the actual "Track" itself. If Craig says to do it, do it!

Sponsors. We have gotten great support locally. The others.. well, let's just say that the LACK of responses from them has been deafening.

The raffle is still going strong (Hobby Alley sold another two ticket books worth already...) and I am looking forward to the draw.

Who is coming? Dunno. Just like last year, you get a handful of people saying they will come and then BAM, you have 50 people playing with us! Hard to say what the numbers will be this year. Things are tight for a lot of people but there are always those that are doing ok and want to BASH!!!!
